Which alternator bracket setup is this? I made one but I prefer he look/functionality of yours. looks like an early model one but can't say for sure

 

It's a generic alternator bracket from Advanced auto, plus a torch and a welder. I can get some better pics of it if you want.

 

That'd be cool. I've seen the top bracket before on 60's mustangs and they make a bottom bracket for these types of alts on those cars but idk what bracket it is specifically. My lower bracket is actually pretty good but the adjustable upper that you have may help me out.

 

Best i can get with a tablet camera. The aluminum is the original bracket, cut off. The angled piece is just angle iron, and the actual tensioner arm is a generic chrome Autozone part. The chewed belt is from failed idler pulley attempt #2.

I'm all over this thread... I have a 1985 Mustang GT that I want to put a 174 on... I'll be doing a very similar combo too...

 

This is BrianJ's thread, where I believe he kept the top mount filter. I used the TBI system and remote filter in mine. Just FYI

 

Hey guys, so there is a guy selling a B&M 174, its missing the belt, mounting gasket, mounting hardware, snout pulley, tensioner pulley and adj pulley.... The guy wants $650 FIRM... He said the blower worked well before he pulled it from his old motor... What do y'all think? Good deal??

 

I think by the time you buy all that stuff, you'd be looking at the price of a good condition complete setup used. If it's in mint condition maybe but I personally probably wouldn't do it.
