One draw back to the BBC (or most any for that matter) is they are great for the drag strip but make the handling far too front end heavy for a fun car in the twisties.

there are aluminum blocks and heads and waterpumps that significantly reduce weight:eek:

Frankly I don't give a rats ass about "twisties", mine handles just fine for a street car. I think if I wanted a corner carver I would have gotten a Porsche, Vette etc. Now that I think about it you drive a truck!

In a street car it May have some traction issues too!

I have a hard time hooking up with 800 so I can't imagine with 1200.

My All Aluminum Cammer is kind of massive, yet it weighs less than an iron SBC. The problem with handling and weight, especially if you want to put in some serious boost is that you really need a billet block if you want to go all out. Second problem being handling, it doesn't matter what kind of mill you are putting together, if you are putting it in a Camaro, a Mustang, or even a Cobra, it is not going to handle well. If you want handling, there is a shop outside of Detroit that makes exact replica GT-40s, correct frame, suspension, and full on aluminum body. Put a properly prepared billet Cammer under serious boost numbers in that, and you will have a Ferrari or Lambo KILLER ;)

    Just my thoughts on it....
