' new to superchargers and thankful for help offered on the forum...

Recently added : a supercharger to a small block six Ford project, AND a big learning curve to SC road tuning.

Project started as a Turbocharger project and then a Vortech V2 became available to me. The BOP GN turbo project is sidelined while the Vortech keeps me busy and interested. Project involves '74 Maverick with Ford 250cid L6.

... pointed to this forum on the 'TurboForum", sure to need SC technical help as boost is cranked up.

    have fun

Nice project you have going there. What kind of power goals do you have for it eventually?

    Welcome aboard.

Carb is a Holley 7448 2300 350 cfm 2Bbl with 'Hangar 18' and other mods.

Power goal is modest , Aussie firm offered a low boost turbo package for the 250 and dyno'd 84 RWHP before and 187 at @ 4500 RPM with a big Weber carb . The Maverick's original 250 ran almost 20 lbs boost with the turbo before blowing head gasket on previous setup with no other apparent failures. The 250 is the stroker version of the venerable 'Falcon' 200 cid six used in Falcon, Mustang, Comet, Fairlane, Fairmont, Granada, Bronco, and others.

Picked up the Maverick toploader 3OTT for the third pedal and plan on T5 or similar OD tranny . The torquey 250 needs road research to factor the Vortech pulley "gearing" and rear axle ratio and there isn't much experienced info.

'Stroker' 250 isn't high revver and need pulley ratio to get full boost at @ 5K rpm , crank pulley is 6.5". Vortech currently is a little over 3" .

is that the same carb that was on the pinto 4cyl engines ??
it was made by Holley and ran on 1bbl and the 2nd bbl was activated as a mechanical secondary
    similar to half a 4bbl Holley carb?:wideyed:

thanks for the link, figgered' on upping boost with pulley swaps with tuning and improvements to the car.

    1/2 right :
Holley 2300 series are big fat synchronous 2Bbl's available as the 7448 350cfm and 4412 500cfm jets and all carb components same as Holley 4150 etc 4Bbl's. Mandated on many circle track classes they build up to @ 900cfm .

Holley/Weber 5200 2Bbl progressive carbs were used on all kinds of 4 and 6 cars from Pinto's to Omnis under license from Weber's "32/36".

Holley/Weber 5200 from 70's Capri V6 on 170cid Ford small block six driver:
