    How is it that the engine in a car costs less than a lot of superchargers? Hell superchargers don't even have that many moving parts and its not a lot of labor putting them together.

    Superchargers aren't mass produced in the same quantity as engines and engine parts.

    ^^^ This.

    Take a look at the prices of some of the aftermarket blocks that are 100% non-OEM from the block to the heads. They are extremely expensive compared to mass produced OEM engines.
